Edinburgh Dream Factory is an independent free download label based in Scotland.
Founded by Stephen Clarke ( born 29 September 1980, Belfast, Northern Ireland ) in
2007 as a vehicle for his own releases, the label has also provided a platform for the
art and music created by his partner, Cara J. Laing ( born 26 March 1981, Kirkcaldy,
Scotland ), and his brother, Paul Clarke ( born 4 May 1984, Belfast, Northern Ireland ).
The Edinburgh Dream Factory name was also used for a club night, promoted by
Stephen Clarke, which featured underground Scottish artists and DJ's, and ran
successfully on a quarterly basis from May 2008 until November 2009.
Early releases on the label generated interest from popular music blogs and national
radio, leading Stephen Clarke to use the Edinburgh Dream Factory name for his live
appearences and DJ sets, and also on a string of remixes for local and international
recording artists.
Recently the label has adopted an anti image, anti ego policy, systematically removing
information from, and then deleting it's accounts on, various social networking sites.
While, at the same time, the label's website has been redesigned and reconstructed by
Stephen Clarke in a minimalist style, in keeping with his simplified, yet productive,
ideal for the future. The label intends to relocate to a rural area in late 2010.
